The $25 Card Hunt: 1934 Player’s Cricketers Don Bradman

Welcome to the $25 Card Hunt — my daily challenge to find, buy, and share a card under $25 that I think is undervalued, interesting, or just plain cool. This series is for entertainment only, not financial advice, and highlights the fun of collecting without breaking the bank.

Card: 1934 Player’s Cricketers Don Bradman
Purchase Price: $6 on COMC; not including shipping
Description: Vintage tobacco card of the greatest cricket player of all time

Today’s pickup is a 1934 Player’s Cigarettes Don Bradman, which I grabbed on COMC for just $6. Bradman is often called the Babe Ruth of cricket — a player whose dominance was so unmatched that his career batting average ended at 99.94, a record that will never be touched. This card is part of a classic tobacco set from the 1930s, a time when cigarette companies around the world produced collectible cards of sports legends. It’s incredible to think that for the price of a coffee, you can hold a piece of nearly century-old cardboard featuring one of the greatest athletes in sports history.
