Disclaimer: This post reflects my personal experiences and opinions on using PSA Vault and Fanatics Collect Vault. I am not affiliated with or sponsored by either company, and this is not financial advice. Always do your own research before using any sports card vault service.
Why I Wanted to Test This Process
I’ve been testing out various vault services to see which platform works best for storing and selling sports cards. Recently, I decided to transfer my Paige Bueckers 1st Bowman PSA 10 from the PSA Vault to the Fanatics Collect Vault.
My goal was to:
1) Test how easy it was to withdraw a card from PSA Vault.
2) Explore Fanatics Collect Vault’s process, as I plan to list the card in the near future (depending on how UConn performs in the NCAA Tournament).
How I Transferred My Card from PSA Vault to Fanatics Collect Vault
The transfer process was straightforward:
✅ I requested a withdrawal from the PSA Vault on February 27th
✅ PSA shipped the card on February 28th and sent me tracking details
✅ The card arrived at Fanatics Collect on March 6th
✅ On March 10th, I received confirmation that the card was processed and officially in my Fanatics Vault account
Similar to shipping to the PSA Vault, I did not have to fill out any extra forms on the Fanatics side. I simply used my Fanatics Vault address as the shipping destination, and once they received the card, they processed it into my account.
Vaulting Fees – Do They Apply?
- PSA Vault: Free storage, but new withdrawal fees starting March 17th
- Fanatics Collect Vault: Cards valued over $50 are free to vault. For cards under $50 on Fanatics Collect, there is a $3 vaulting fee if you don’t sell it within 30 days
- Since my Paige Bueckers PSA 10 is valued at $77 via Card Ladder on Fanatics Collect’s website, I do not anticipate paying a vaulting fee
What’s Next? Selling the Card
Now that my Paige Bueckers PSA 10 is in the Fanatics Vault, I’m exploring my selling options.
Fanatics Collect offers two primary ways to sell:
1) Auction – Includes a seller commission payout (exact details still to be tested)
2) Buy It Now – Comes with a 6% selling fee
I haven’t decided which route to take yet, but I plan to list or auction the card soon depending on market trends and NCAA tournament results.
PSA Vault vs. Fanatics Collect Vault – Which is Better?
While both services have strengths and weaknesses, my early takeaway is that I would recommend both vaults as potential options depending on what you are looking for:
✔️ PSA Vault Pros: Quick withdrawal process, eBay integration for sales
✔️ Fanatics Collect Vault Pros: More notifications during processing, faster intake times, lower selling fees
Ultimately, the biggest difference will likely be in the selling experience. PSA Vault allows for listings on eBay (which may result in higher prices), while Fanatics Vault sells on its own platform with lower fees. I’ll need to see how easy it is to sell before deciding which is better long-term.
Final Thoughts
If you’re considering using a vault, both PSA Vault and Fanatics Collect Vault are solid choices.
I’ll be sharing a follow-up post on my experience selling through Fanatics Collect, so stay tuned!
